Sweet chili paneer

Delicious sweet chili paneer, a perfect, no deep fry, party starter.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Paneer
  • 1 tbsp Corn flour
  • 2 tblsp oil
  • 2 tbsp onion
  • 2 tbsp spring onion greens
  • ½ capsicum
  • 1 tsp Sesame seeds for garnishing
  • Salt if needed
  • For the sauce
  • 3 tbsp chili sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic chopped
  • ½ tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp orange juice
  • 1 tsp sugar

Instructions

  • Add 2 cups paneer cubes in a bowl. I just took it out from the freezer and used it. No need to bring it to room temperature.
  • Sprinkle 1 tbsp cornflour on this.
  • Mix well and marinate for 5 mins.
  • Let’s make the sauce now.
  • In a bowl add 3 tbsp chili sauce or Siracha sauce, ½ tbsp soy sauce, 4 cloves garlic finely chopped, 2 tbsp orange juice and 1 tsp sugar.
  • Mix well everything.
  • The sauce is ready. Keep it aside.
  • In a pan add 2 tbsp olive oil.
  • Place the paneer pieces on it.
  • Stir fry till golden brown. Carefully turn it on all sides.
  • Take out and keep aside.
  • Add finely chopped spring onions. Keep the spring onion green aside.
  • Saute for a minute and add ½ capsicum cut into cubes.
  • Saute for a minute.
  • Add the sauce to the pan. Mix well.
  • Add the paneer cubes to this.
  • Mix gently.
  • Cook for a minute and switch off the flame.
  • Garnish with spring onion greens.
  • Sprinkle sesame seeds.
  • Sweet chili paneer ready.

Notes

Paneer can be replaced with tofu.
2. If you want to make the Chili paneer spicier you can add 1-2 chopped green chili along with the capsicum.
