In a pan add ¼ cup milk and add the cocoa powder.
Mix well.
Add the remaining milk and switch on the stove.
Whisk well so that the cocoa powder gets dissolved completely.
Now add in the chocolate chips. This gives a nice creamy texture.
Stir well.
Add the cornflour now.
Mix well quickly so that it should not form lumps.
Add sugar at this stage.
Since we are adding chocolate chips, do not add more sugar.
Mix well and allow this to boil for 2 minutes.
Since we have added cornflour and chocolate chips, keep stirring this so that it will not get stuck at the bottom.
After 2 minutes it will become thick and creamy.
Add vanilla essence and mix well.
Switch off the flame.
Pour into serving glasses and serve hot.
In summer you can keep it inside the fridge and serve cold also.
Both ways kids loved it.
