Ingredients

  • 1 cup thick yogurt
  • 1 cup water
  • Salt a needed
  • 5 shallots | small onion
  • 1 green chili
  • A small piece of ginger

Instructions

  • Crush the shallots, green chili, and ginger in a mortar and pestle.
  • You can pulse this in a mixie jar into a coarse paste also.
  • In a wide bowl add the yogurt and whisk this well.
  • Add 1 cup of water.
  • Now add the salt and the crushed mixture to this.
  • Mix well.
  • Serve immediately or serve chilled.

Notes:
1. You can crush a few curry leaves and add them to the Sambaram.
