Gooseberry lemonade recipe

Easy to make gooseberry lemonade - no sugar added

  • 4 gooseberry | nellikai | amla
  • 1 small piece ginger
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 pinches salt
  • 1-2 tbsp jaggery or sugar
  • ¼ tsp black salt optional
  • ¼ tsp roasted cumin powder
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • Few ice cubes


  • Chop the gooseberries into small and discard the seed.
  • In a blender grind this into a smooth paste along with ginger and jaggery or sugar.
  • You can add little water while grinding.
  • Add 2 cups of water to this and sieve this mixture.
  • Discard the residue.
  • Add salt, black salt, and roasted cumin powder.
  • Now add the lemon juice.
  • Mix well.
  • Add ice cubes and serve immediately.



1. You can add honey also to this instead of jaggery | sugar.
2. You can add few mint leaves while grinding the Gooseberry.
3. You can add soaked sabja seeds to the gooseberry lemonade.
