Dry fruits burfi recipe

No sugar added, healthy sweet recipe using dates and nuts

Ingredients

  • 20 dates
  • ½ cup mixed nuts
  • 1 tsp ghee
  • 1 tsp cocoa powder
  • ¼ tsp vanilla essence

Instructions

  • In a mixie jar add the dates.
  • Pulse this into a coarse paste.
  • Keep it aside.
  • In a pan add the mixed nuts and roast this for 2 minutes.
  • I used cashew nuts, pistachios and almonds
  • Ensure not to burn this.
  • Take out and pulse this into a coarse powder.
  • Alternatively, you can chop the nuts into small pieces and roast it too.
  • In the same pan add 1 tsp of ghee and add the coarsely ground dates.
  • Cook this for 2 minutes.
  • Now add the ground nuts to this.
  • Add the cocoa powder and vanilla essence to this.
  • Mix well until everything is combined well.
  • Switch off the flame.
  • Transfer this to a flat surface.
  • Gather this into a whole mass and make a log.
  • If you feel it is bit dry, add 1 tsp of ghee and combine well.
  • Once you form a log, place this on an aluminium foil.
  • Roll this and keep it inside the refrigerator for 2 hours.
  • After 2 hours, take it out and cut them into roundels.
  • Dry fruits roll is ready.

Notes

1. Do not skip the cocoa powder and vanilla essence. It will give a nice wonderful taste.
2. You can also add pumpkin seeds, walnuts and sunflower seeds to this Dry fruits burfi.
