Kosumalli | Vada paruppu | kosambari
South Indian moong dal salad recipe

yellow moong dal
chopped coriander leaves
Salt as needed
In a pan add ½ cup of water and bring this to a rolling boil.
Add the yellow moong dal to this and switch off the flame.
Let this sit in hot water for 15 minutes.
In a pan add oil and add the mustard seeds, chopped green chilis and asafoetida .
Once the mustard seeds splutter, add the chopped coriander leaves.
Switch off the flame.
Once done, drain the water and add this dal to a bowl.
Add the grated carrot, cucumber, salt and the tempering mix to this.
Add the lemon juice.
Combine everything well.
Kosumalli | vada paruppu is ready.
1. You can add 1 tbsp of grated coconut to this kosumalli.
2. Finely chopped raw mango can also be added to the kosumalli | kosambari
