Spicy Paneer tawa pulao

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked rice
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 onion
  • 2 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1/4 cup capsicum
  • 2 to matoes
  • 1 cup paneer cubes
  • 2 tsp red chili powder
  • 2 green chili
  • 2 tsp Pav bhaji masala
  • Salt as needed
  • Coriander leaves few to garnish

Instructions

  • Soak the paneer cubes in hot water for 10 minutes
  • In a pan add 1 tbsp butter and add 2 slit green chilis.
  • Now add 1 tbsp finely chopped onions.
  • Add a little salt and saute this till the onion becomes translucent.
  • Add ginger garlic paste at this stage and saute till the raw smell goes off.
  • Now add ¼ cup of finely chopped capsicum.
  • Saute for a minute.
  • Add 2 finely chopped tomatoes and cook till it becomes mushy.
  • Now we can add the salt, red chili powder, and pav bhaji masala.
  • Cook till the raw smell goes off.
  • Drain the paneer cubes from the water and add it to the pan.
  • Mix well.
  • Add the cooked rice now.
  • Ensure the rice is not mushy and has separate grains.
  • Use basmati rice as it enhances the taste.
  • Mix well gently and evenly.
  • Once it is mixed, let this cook for a minute.
  • Switch off the flame and garnish with coriander leaves.
  • Spicy paneer tawa pulao is ready.

Notes

  1. I cooked 1 cup of basmati rice and it yielded 2 cups of cooked basmati rice.
  2. Ensure the rice is separate and not mushy.
  3. You can adjust the spiciness according to your taste.
