In a Pressure Cooker put oil and add the cumin seeds. When it splutters, add the onions and tomatoes one by one. Just saute for 2 mins.
Then add the sambar powder and add 2 cups of water.
Add the turmeric powder. Let this boil for 3-5 mins.
Then add the moong dal and add salt. Close the cooker with lid and cook till 6-7 whistles

When it is done add the milk and boil for 2 mins.
Finally, add kasoori methi and garnish with coriander leaves.
Adding milk gives a creamy texture and kasturi methi gives an exotic flavor.
Serve hot with roti/rice.
