How to make pizza at home without yeast

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Plain flour | Maida
  • 1/4 cup Yogurt
  • 1/2 cup Warm milk
  • 1/2 tsp Baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp Baking soda
  • 2 tsp Sugar
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tsp Olive oil
  • 2-3 tbsp Water
  • For toppings for one pizza
  • 2 tbsp Tomato ketchup
  • 2 tbsp Chilli sauce
  • 1/2 cup grated cheese
  • 4-5 cherry tomatoes
  • Oregano few
  • Chilli flakes few

Instructions

  • In a bowl add 2 cups plain flour | Maida | all-purpose flour.
  • Add salt to taste.
  • Now add in 2 tsp sugar, ¼ tsp baking soda, and ½ tsp baking powder.
  • Add in ½ cup Warm milk and ¼ cup yogurt to this.
  • Mix everything well.
  • Add 2 – 3 tbsp water as per the need and make a soft dough.
  • Drizzle 2 tsp olive oil to this.
  • Cover and keep aside for 1 hour. You can keep aside for 2-3 hours as well if you have time.
  • Take again and knead it once and divide the dough into 3 equal parts.
  • Dust and roll into medium-thin crust.
  • If you want a thick crust, divide the dough into 2 and make a thick pizza base.
  • Mix 2 tbsp tomato ketchup and 2 tbsp chili sauce. You can use pizza sauce too.
  • If you don’t get Pizza sauce, you can substitute that with mixing tomato ketchup and chili sauce and some herbs.
  • Grease a baking tray.
  • Transfer the rolled dough to the tray.
  • Pierce with a fork. This process will avoid the dough puffing up while baking.
  • Spread the sauce on the base.
  • Place sliced cherry tomatoes. Alternatively, you can add veggies like capsicum, baby corn, and onions or you can make Tandoori paneer toppings too.
  • Sprinkle mozzarella cheese on the top.
  • Sprinkle oregano, I had some fresh Italian oregano herb from my friend’s garden. So used that here.
  • Sprinkle some chili flakes.
  • Preheat the oven at 180 degrees for 5 mins
  • Bake for 20-25 mins in 180 degrees for 20-25 mins.
  • Once done take out and cool for 2 mins.
  • Cut into slices

Notes

1. The yogurt can be cold or at room temperature too.
2. Do not add hot milk, use warm milk.
3. The dough can be kept aside for 3-4 hrs also. But if you have no time, you can make the pizza in an hour too.
