Ingredients

  • 4 slices of bread I used whole wheat bread
  • 2 tsp green chutney
  • 2 tbsp hung curd put curd in a tea strainer for 15 mins
  • 4 tsp oil
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • Few curry leaves

Instructions

  • Take 2 slices of bread. I used whole wheat bread, you can use white bread too.
  • Spread 1 tsp of green chutney on one slice of bread.
  • Spread 1 tbsp of hung curd on another piece of bread.
  • You can use sour cream also. I used store-bought Greek yogurt.
  • In a tawa or pan add 2 tsp oil and add ½ tsp mustard seeds.
  • Once it starts crackling add the curry leaves.
  • Now simmer the flame and place the sandwiched bread on it.
  • Cook on both sides till both sides become golden brown.
  • Ensure the tadka spreads all over the bread slices.
  • Cut them into 2 and serve immediately.
  • Repeat the same for another 2 slices of bread. Every time when you toast the bread, make the tadka first and do it.

Notes

Notes: 1. You can add sliced onions, grated carrots, and cabbage to the hung curd. Add salt and mix well and spread it on the bread instead of adding plain hung curd.
2. Do not skip the tadka part with mustard seeds and curry leaves, it gives an amazing taste to the sandwich.
3. Dahi tadka sandwich should be sent to kids' snacks box, but they can not stay good for long hours as the hung curd might make them soggy.
