Fruit Sundal recipe

Mixed fruit sundal recipe- a healthy salad

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Chickpeas | kondakadalai or Peanut
  • 1 Apple
  • ½ cup Pomegranate
  • 1 cup Pineapple
  • 3 tsp Oil
  • ¼ tsp Mustard seeds
  • 3 tbsp Urad dal
  • 3 Red chili
  • Curry leaves few
  • ½ tsp Lemon juice
  • Salt as needed

Instructions

  • Soak the chickpeas overnight cook it with a little salt and drain the extra water.
  • Chop apples and pineapple into cubes.
  • In a wide bowl add the chickpeas, apples, pineapple, and pomegranate.
  • Add Salt.
  • Chop the curry leaves and tear the red chili.
  • In a small pan add oil and add in the mustard seeds, urad dal, chopped curry leaves and red chili.
  • Cook till the dal turns golden brown.
  • Add it to the fruit mixture and lemon juice.
  • Give it a nice even mix.
  • The fruit sundal is ready to serve.
  • Discard the red chili before serving.

Notes

Notes:
1. Pears, grapes, kiwi, strawberries, and any variety of sundal can be added.
2. Raw mango can also be added.
3. Peanuts can be added to the tadka to get a crunchy taste.
4. Dry fruits like almonds, raisins, and any other seeds can also be added.
5. Green chili can be replaced with red chili.
6. Chaat masala and finely chopped coriander leaves can also be added.
