  • Adding orange zest will add a nice flavour to the cake.

  18. Hi, could you please explain which soda is being used?

  19. Hi,
Just happened to come across your site while searching for eggless tuti frutti cake.
I made this cake today and let me tell you the taste is amazing.i added lemon zest which i had at home.
The only thing is It will rise pretty high in the oven, but when you take it out to cool, it will fall. And fall hard.

  20. hi jeyashri
I am a regular reader of ur site..i have tried many items and it has come out well .. today I tried tutty fruit cake for the first time..its taste is awesome but the cake did bulge out and it got sunk ...since I am new to beginning I m unable to identify where I went wrong..

    1. Very sorry about the delayed reply. Reg the query, for cake sinking, the usual reason i can think of is oven temperature. if it's too cold or too hot, this can happen. it's possible your oven temperature is a little off (which is very common).

    2. Another could be that the baking powder/soda used was close to expiry. Please check
