Quinoa blends well with South Indian meals. Quinoa is nutrient-dense, rich in protein and fiber. It is significantly low in Glycemic index and controls blood sugar well. It won’t spike the sugar rapidly.
I always used to add cooked quinoa to my salads. Then I slowly replaced it with rice. As a family, we started enjoying quinoa with our South Indian dishes. To start with, you can replace rice with Quinoa when making Ven pongal, kichidi, Curd rice, and bisibele bath.
How to cook quinoa in pressure cooker
Ingredients
- ½ cup Quinoa
- ¾ cup water
Instructions
- Add ½ cup quinoa in a strainer and add water.
- Wash well.
- Repeat this thrice
- Add the washed quinoa to a vessel
- Add ¾ cup water
- Cover the vessel and place this in a cooker
- Pressure cook for 3-4 whistles
- Take out and fluff the rice
- Perfectly cooked quinoa is ready
