Pav bhaji recipe

The first time when i attempted to make pav bhaji at home everyone appreciated me a lot. Sharing with you all the recipe of how to make Pav bhaji. Since we don’t get pav buns here i made with the Burger buns.

Pav bhaji recipe

    Carrot  1
    Green peas  1/2 cup
    Potato  2
    Capsicum  2 tblsp (finely chopped)
    Onion  2
    Ginger  a small piece
    Garlic  3 cloves
    Green chili 1
    Tomato  2 big
    Pav bhaji masala 1 tsp
    Red chili powder  1 tsp
    Salt As Needed

    Oil  1 tblsp
    Butter  2 tsp + as needed to toast the buns
    Coriander leaves  few
    Lemon juice  1/2 tsp

  • Chop the carrots into small pieces and cook this with green peas in a kadai.
  • You can also microwave them till it becomes soft.
  • Grind the garlic, ginger, and chilli in a mixie.
  • Boil the potato and peel the skin.
  • Chop the onions finely.
  • Grind the tomatoes, else you can chop them finely too.
  • Heat a pan with oil and add the ginger garlic and chilli paste to this.
  • Add the onions and saute till it turns pink.
  • Add the tomato puree.
  •  Add the pavbhaji masala, red chilli powder, and salt to this and saute well.
  • When the masala gets mixed with the tomatoes, add the cooked carrots, green peas, and potatoes to it.
  • Mash it nicely using a potato masher.
  • When it boils add the butter on the top of it.
  • In a pan, add the finely chopped capsicum. Saute for 2 minutes. It should be crunchy.
  • Add this to the bhaji. When it boils add the butter on the top of it. Garnish with coriander leaves.
  • Add lemon juice to this after switching off.
  • Cut the bun into 2 pieces and sprinkle the pav bhaji masala on both sides.
  • In a tawa, just a little butter and toast the buns till golden brown.
  • If you want you can add a tsp of lemon juice to it while serving.
