Black bean Sundal, Ellu urundai – Navaratri Combo series 4. I have been posting Navaratri Combo recipes on Jeyashri’s Kitchen YouTube.

This series may help many ladies to plan their daily neivedyam recipe for Navaratri. Ellu urundai is usually made in many houses on Navaratri Saturday. Some people make it as urundai and some people just keep it as a podi. My grandmother used to make urundai for us and keep the rest as podi. She will fold this in a newspaper and give this to ladies when they come home.

Black beans I have seen for the first time in Singapore. It has a unique taste. It is widely used in Mexican recipes. We do get this now in India. You can replace black beans with any other variety of legumes too.
