Rose milk recipe | Homemade rose syrup recipe, easy rose milk essence recipe with full video and step-by-step instructions.

Rose milk is one of my favorite drinks from childhood days. Most of the days during summer, we used to drink rose milk after brushing our teeth. Also in the evening also we drink rose milk only. After I got married and later become health conscious I started avoiding sugary drinks. But once in a while, I used to drink rose milk in restaurants. Tried the Roofafza syrup few times when we were in Singapore, but somehow not a big fan of it.

I wanted to try out the Homemade Rose syrup recipe for a long time. I wanted to try it using dried rose petals but somehow the ones I used, didn’t give the extract results which I expected. Then I tried a simple basic recipe with easily available ingredients and it tasted too good.

Easy homemade rose milk syrup without any preservatives

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tsp rose essence
  • 1 tsp kewra water*
  • ½ tsp rose water
  • 1/8 tsp pink food color
  • *Kewra water and rose water we can easily get in Indian shops. Kewra water can be used in Biryanis too.

Instructions
 

  • In a saucepan add 1 cup of sugar and add 1 cup of water.
  • Let the sugar melts and the syrup turns into a sticky honey consistency syrup.
  • A half-string consistency will be perfect.
  • Switch off the stove.
  • Let this cool.
  • Now add the rose essence, kewra water rose water, and pink food color.
  • Mix well.
  • Rose milk essence is ready.
  • This can be stored for a month in a clean jar, inside the refrigerator.
  • For making Rose milk, take 1 cup of chilled milk in a glass.
  • You can use boiled and chilled milk too.
  • Add 2 tbsp of rose milk syrup to the milk and mix well.
  • Serve chilled.
  • You can add 1 -2 tsp of soaked sabja seeds to the rose milk during summer.

Notes

1. Ensure the consistency of the sugar syrup is slightly thick and not watery.
2. Homemade Rose milk syrup can be stored in the refrigerator for a month.

Hi, Jeyashri, could I please request a recipe for badam powder? I used to love adding MTR badam powder to warm milk in my pre-vegan days whenever I had a cold. I cannot find a store-bought alternative without milk powder in it. If I had a homemade recipe, I can swap out the milk powder for coconut milk powder. Thank you so much!
