Gooseberry | amla | nellikai is one of the highly nutritious and very rich in antioxidants. It is one of the best immunity booster too. Nellikai | amla is very rich in fiber and it helps in digestion too. It is also very rich in Vitamin C. This gooseberry lemonade is made with gooseberry, lemon, and ginger as the main ingredients. The addition of roasted cumin powder, jaggery not only makes it healthy but also aids in digestion too.

Gooseberry lemonade recipe

Easy to make gooseberry lemonade - no sugar added

Ingredients

  • 4 gooseberry | nellikai | amla
  • 1 small piece ginger
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 pinches salt
  • 1-2 tbsp jaggery or sugar
  • ¼ tsp black salt optional
  • ¼ tsp roasted cumin powder
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • Few ice cubes

Instructions

  • Chop the gooseberries into small and discard the seed.
  • In a blender grind this into a smooth paste along with ginger and jaggery or sugar.
  • You can add little water while grinding.
  • Add 2 cups of water to this and sieve this mixture.
  • Discard the residue.
  • Add salt, black salt, and roasted cumin powder.
  • Now add the lemon juice.
  • Mix well.
  • Add ice cubes and serve immediately.

Notes

1. You can add honey also to this instead of jaggery | sugar.
2. You can add few mint leaves while grinding the Gooseberry.
3. You can add soaked sabja seeds to the gooseberry lemonade.
