Eggless savory French toast recipe – Easy and healthy breakfast recipe – French toast recipe with step by step pictures.

Idli | dosa is the staple breakfast in our homes. We also make upma and sandwiches for breakfast. This savory version of French toast is an easy and kids friendly recipe too. Usually, they make French toast with egg, but in this version, we are adding besan to replace the egg. The base is similar to the besan cheela, the vegetarian Omelet. You can add few veggies to this to make it more healthy.

I recently heard about this from a friend and wanted to try this at home. I used milk in this recipe. But if you want to try vegan French toast, you can replace milk with Oat milk or almond milk. Also, you can add finely chopped capsicum, grated carrots to make this healthier.

  1. This looks yummy. Thank you for sharing this recipe. My kids love French toasts but I just do not give them the liberty to eat so much because I fear the cholesterol. There are diners as well as catering Fort Lauderdale services that also promote healthier options these days. So, this will certainly be a great substitute for the conventional French toast. Thank you again.

  2. Yum!! The savory version rocks!! also besan dosa type is a sub for an omlet. this is a good idea too as I usually find french toast a little sweet for my taste and always make the savory version and this version is a treat esp when parents visit and u dont want the egg to stink up the place…
